Sharing Talents And Resources Together (START) assists community based nonprofit organizations accomplish their goals.
START's Purpose
START was established as a service organization offering hands-on support and funds to area nonprofit organizations whose focus is to improve the well-being of individuals within Sarasota County.
START offers volunteer opportunities through its Outreach and Fundraising Activities. It also includes Social events for its members. The Organization thrives on teamwork and camaraderie.

START’S ONGOING PROJECTS 2025

Women’s Resource Center
START supports the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) by collecting new, or clean and gently used women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. START accepts to the WRC at any time and delivers collected items every 2 months. We have six drop off locations for our members.

Satchel’s Last Resort
START supports Satchel’s Last Resort by collecting the much needed supplies to help maintain the shelter. The donated items that are on their ‘Wish List’ can be found at Wish List - Satchel’s Last Resort. We have three drop off locations for our members.
Resurrection House
Resurrection House supports our homeless neighbors. Many of their clients are identified as the ‘new poor’; people who have suffered some crisis in their lives and now find themselves on the street, helpless and unable to regain their place in society. Resurrection House serves from 70-100 people daily, helping transition ‘at-risk’ individuals to a path of self-sufficiency. An on-site medical clinic is staffed by a volunteer physician, and clients can receive haircuts free of charge from barbers who donate their time. A chaplain provides counseling as well as interfaith services.

Good Sam Pharmacy and Health Services
Good Sam Pharmacy and Health Services (GSPHS) provides medical services to many of our uninsured and financially challenged neighbors. Their services include free access to physician services, diagnostic testing, prescriptions, and over-the-counter medications. Click HERE to find out what’s on their Wish List.
